Statistics New Zealand Quarterly Regional Review
The Quarterly Regional Review has been developed specifically for use by organisations with an interest in, and need for information about New Zealand's regions, cities and districts. The review brings together a range of data from both Statistics New Zealand and external sources such as the Police, REINZ and Ministry of Education.
The Quarterly Regional Review contains a selection of variables designed to show social, demographic and economic trends, specifically relating to a particular region, city or district.
Presented as summary tables, graphs and commentary, the Quarterly Regional Review also enables comparisons to be made with other areas and New Zealand as a whole.
Each quarter a Feature Article highlights specific areas such as ethnic population projections, housing profiles and environmental issues.
- population estimates and projections
- births and deaths
- external migration
- public hospital discharges
- average weekly income
- economic indicators
- building consents and real estate sales
- accommodation survey
- overseas cargo loaded and unloaded
The last four Quarterly Reviews are available in pdf format below:
Statistics NZ is no longer freely producing the Quarterly Regional Reviews for Councils. However, Porirua City Council is currently working with Statistics NZ to plan and produce similar reports that will be made available in the near future. Although Statistics NZ is no longer compiling and disseminating the Quarterly Regional Review, Statistics NZ's new refreshed website continues to have a wealth of useful local information available to show social, demographic and economic trends, specifically relating to a particular region, city or district.
