Council also works with Porirua Chamber of Commerce to facilitate key economic development events, activities for networking, and business opportunities.

Council works with Porirua Chamber of Commerce to establish, promote and manage the delivery of a series of forums, to be held at various venues around the city in order to engage businesses and industries of all shapes and sizes in the economic development of Porirua City.

An Economic Development Forum was held on Thursday 31 July 2014 at Te Rauparaha Arena. This 'Porirua 2025' Forum included guest speakers and discussion groups on key themes, opportunities, and risks facing local businesses.

A public forum and a Business After 5 networking session were held at the Te Rauparaha Arena on Tuesday 6 December 2011. Forum participants explored the future for Porirua City and the role of local/regional businesses and organisations in the city's economic development.
