Convenience Fee
It is important to note that the service provider charges you a convenience fee of 2.1% of your payment amounts with a minimum of $3.50. This fee is not charged by Council, but is a charge made by the Council's service provider.
This service is provided by Westpac New Zealand Ltd in agreement with Porirua City Council.
Porirua City Council does not receive any part of the online convenience fee.
If you do not wish to pay the convenience fee, please make your payment using one of the alternative payment methods listed below.
"Easy Pay" Direct Debit
Direct Debit is the easy no fuss way to pay your rates. Rate payments will be automatically made from your bank account.
Direct Debit allows you to spread your current year's rates payments over 12 months. You can choose to pay either weekly, fortnightly, monthly or by instalment.
The amounts to be paid are automatically adjusted to ensure your rates are paid in full over the whole year. We will notify you in advance of the payments amounts and you can amend or cancel the payments at any time.
You can use our Direct Debit form from the link below. Fill it in, sign it, and post it back to us to set up your direct debit.
By Mail
Post cheques to PO Box 50-218, Porirua 5240.
Please enclose the remittance advice from the rates invoice to ensure that your payment is correctly identified, and post your payment in sufficient time to reach us on or before the final date for payment.
Please do not post cash.
Telephone Banking
You can phone your bank and they can set up PCC RATES as a 'Bill payment option'.
You will be asked for your six digit rate account number so be sure to have it on hand. This can be found at the top left hand corner of your rates invoice or assessment.
Internet Banking
Once you have Porirua City Council set up as a 'Bill payment option' with your bank you can pay using your own bank's online banking service.
You can set the dates that you would like the payments to be made in advance.
Visit your bank's website to find out more.
Please allow 3 days for funds to transfer to Council's bank account and ensure that your rate account number is clearly identified as the reference.
