Cost of Council Activities per Household
The average annual cost of $2,360 (including GST) for rates is based on the average-priced residential property in Porirua (valued at $380,000). GST is $308.00.
Note: *Landfill Joint Venture makes a distribution to Porirua City Council's activity costs.
Note that these costs do not include rates charged by Greater Wellington Regional Council. Regional rates are part of the overall rates you pay, and are noted separately on your invoice from Council.

The property valuation figure of $380,000 was taken as at 1 July 2012 and is found by taking all residential property values and dividing by the number of rating units.
