This page lists the approved public areas in Porirua City where dogs may be exercised off lead.
Porirua City Parks
You may exercise your dog off lead at the following locations in Porirua City, provided it is under continuous control at all times.

(between Titahi Bay Road and Semple Street)
Tangare Drive Reserve
(between Tangere Drive and Titahi Bay Road)
Cannons Creek Pool Reserve
(area north of Cannons Creek Pool)
||Ascot Park (Plantation Area)
||Spinnaker Walkway Reserve*
The Quarterdeck Lookout Reserve
||Papakowhai Eastern Road Reserve*
(area north of Tweed Road)
||Ivey Bay Reserve
Ngatitoa Domain (foreshore area)
||Motukaraka Point Reserve except when being used for any organised public event
Muri Road Reserve
* Please note that these areas have on-going possum control measures in place. Dog owners should ensure their dogs are not let loose in the bush or allowed to scavenge carcasses as they may be in danger of poisoning.
Greater Wellington Regional Council Parks
|Battle Hill Farm Forest Park

||Dogs are not permitted, including those in vehicles.
|Belmont Regional Park
||282 Stratton Street, Maungaraki, Lower Hutt
||Dogs are permitted on leash in the Korokoro, Stratton St and Dry Creek Valleys. Dogs are not permitted on or near farmland.
||Whitireia Road, Titahi Bay
||Dogs are welcome, but must be on leash at all times at Onehunga Bay, and kept under control at all times in other areas of the park.
