Dog and animal abuse should be promptly reported
The New Zealand standards for dog and animal welfare and safety are set in legislation by the Animal Welfare Act 1999.
Report animal abuse to:
- The Royal Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) on telephone (04) 389 8044; or
- The Police in serious cases
